The Libraries database is an extra feature of this publication giving you the
opportunity to search through libraries with holdings of art sales catalogues.
Search
This database offers the following search options:
by name of the library. With this option you can search by typing
(part of) either the original names used by Lugt or the name of the present
location in the language of the country where the library is located.
by place. You can use the browse list or type the place name. In
either case, the search has to be made using the standardized form of the name
of the place where the library is located (according to the LC authority files
for names).
by country. You can use the browse list or type the name of the

Search results
The search results can list the following:
Name in Lugt. We have listed in blue the original name of the
library in French. Behind this name is the abbreviation used by Frits Lugt in
the printed edition of the Répertoire. You will get more
details about the library by clicking on the name. The looking glass leads you
to a listing of all art sales catalogues in this library.
Present name / location. The present location of the catalogues has
been listed in the language of the country where the library is located. Where
possible, a link is provided to the web pages of the library.
Remark. For some libraries additional information about the
collection of art sales catalogues in the library is given name / location.
